Aircraft Emission Pollution
Air transport has been one of the most significant sources of air pollution in recent years (BALAN & TIPA, 2011). The importance of clean air cannot be overemphasized, and it is the role of everyone in the society to make sure that they keep air clean and to prevent the atmospheric poisons from causing problems among the people in the society. The combustion of aviation fuel releases waste products into the atmosphere that causes pollution that will affect the lives of the people in the society. The governments in the world are doing their best to prevent emissions that may cause dangers to the lives of the various creatures in the world. According to Kampa & Castanas (2008), air pollution has various effects on the health of human beings. The author notes that the air is contaminated by hazardous chemicals that get into the environment through anthropogenic activities. Aviation emissions are part of the anthropogenic causes of air pollution that affect the lives of the people negatively. This paper assesses air pollution caused by emission from air pollution.
What is the Regulation on aircraft emission pollution?
Regulation refers to a directive or a rule that has been put in place by a given authority with the intention of guiding people on what they are supposed to do and what they are not supposed to do. It may also refer to the directive that is made and maintained by an authority. In the current research, the respondent needed to show the knowledge that he has about Regulation and its importance in preventing pollution and making sure that the lives of the people are protected by making sure that the life-threatening emissions do not find their way into the atmosphere. The respondent was aware of the fact that several regulations have been put in place to ensure that the aviation industry is environmentally friendly and that effective measures are put in place to ensure that the environment is well catered for. The respondent was also aware of the fact that a polluted environment would be a risk to his life, and a clean environment would be necessary for making sure that he lives better in society. The regulations that are supposed to guide the aviation industry and help the players in preventing the causes of pollution are published on https://www.transportation.gov/. There are several categories of rules in the aviation industry, namely the safety of planes, airports, and space, consumer protection for airline passengers, and the environmental impact of the aircraft operations. Several federal regulations are used in controlling the aviation industry and can be read at https://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CFR-2004-title14-vol1/content-detail.html. The rules cut various aspects in the aviation industry that include the plane themselves, the staff as well as the equipment that are used in the company. The regulations can also be used in guiding the air traffic and the airspace as a whole.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is an outstanding organization that regulates aviation around the world and makes sure that air traffic control is done in the best way possible. The organization came up with the Air Transport Policy, and Regulation, which is a program is essential because it reduces the costs in performing its economic, regulatory functions. It also improves connectivity and more competitive business opportunities in the workplace. It is essential to engage ICAO in the regulation process. They will play an essential role in making sure that the aviation industry is run in such a way that the players in the industry protect the environment. All the countries have regulations that guide operations in the airports as well as their airspaces.
Tanaka (2015) assesses the effect of Regulation in the prevention of air pollution and the effects that it has on infant mortality. The author notes the fact that the Chinese government came up with stringent air pollution regulations which was one of the largest regulation scale to be tried in a developing country. The regulations have helped so far because the extent of pollution has gone down greatly. The Regulation by the Chinese government has since played an important role in reducing the infant mortality rate. One of the causes of infant mortality in the country is air pollution. Tanaka (2015) notes the fact that Regulation is important in dealing with cases of air pollution in society.
All the players in the aviation industry have a role to play in dealing with air pollution. All the players should be involved in the process to ensure that the cases of pollution are reduced. Planes are always in the atmosphere, and any emission that they let out goes directly into the atmosphere. Regulation may help in such a way that they protect the environment from the pollution that may come from the plane’s engines, the people that are using the aircraft for traveling, and other sources of corruption in the aviation industry. It is, therefore, important to find out various ways of coming up with regulations that may properly guide the aviation industry.
All the organizations and authorities in the aviation industry are becoming more environmentally conscious, something that makes them come up with various ways of protecting the environment from pollution. The organizations have been designed to ensure that the aviation industry is clean and that it does not contribute to the cases of environmental degradation that could lead to climate change. Harmonization of regulatory frameworks through the development of policies and guidance will play an essential role in the maintenance of the environment for the benefit of society as a whole. EPA in the United States of America has played a crucial role in Regulation that protects the environment, but it should be noted that the challenges are always there to block part of the organizations.
Technological innovation plays an important role in the protection of the environment as far as the aviation industry is concerned. The aircraft manufacturers and airlines are using technology to prevent the causes of air pollution in society. For instance, aircraft manufacturers particularly use efficient jet engines that use less fuel and give out fewer emissions that reduce the incidence of pollution to the atmosphere. The biggest technological innovation in the airline industry took place in the 1960s. Since then, the aircraft manufacturers have continuously improved the technology used in making the carriage not only to enhance comfort but only preventing the causes of pollution in the airline industry. The fact that many companies are continuously becoming more conscious of the environment and the regulations that call for the companies to be conscious of the environment, the manufacturers have been motivated to come up with technologies that will not only protect the environment but also protect people’s lives (Lee & Mo, 2011).
What is the impact of regulations on the environment?
It is essential to understand the importance of Regulation to the environment. Most importantly, it is necessary to understand the impact that aviation has on the environment. It should be noted that the planes fly in the atmosphere, and the case they release emissions, the effect will be higher than the other carriages that are moving on the ground level. Regulation plays an important role in keeping the environment clean. May companies have a challenge in following the regulations that involve keeping the environment clean because effective waste management prevents extra costs to the company in question. Waste management is included as part of the costs that the companies have to undergo. The costs are then passed to the clients in terms of the increase in prices of the services given by the airlines.
Aviation has the potential of causing more harm to the environment if the necessary measures are not taken. Regulations in the aviation industry have been used in the prevention of the cases of emissions into the environment that could cause harm to the environment and to the people that are living in the said environment. In the case where the aviation industry cannot totally prevent emissions from getting into the environment, then it is important to put measures in place to reduce them and preventing them from getting into the environment. The authorities, therefore, have to be keen when it comes to making decisions on how they are supposed to regulate the aviation sector, including the amount of emission that are allowed in the industry and the penalties that the people who pollute the environment will have to pay. In case of extreme environmental degradation, the perpetrators are supposed to be heavily fined so that they don’t go on with their habit of polluting the environment.
In the interview with the respondent that took part in the research, Regulation plays an important role in taking care of the environment because the regulators will control the number of emissions that are released in the environment. The respondent that took part in the research noted that the government has the role of assessing the emissions that are released into the environment and they are supposed to put measures in place that will make sure that the minimal emission that have been put in place are not exceeding the standards that have been put in place by the government. He also noted that he has heard various organization paying fines as a result of the pollution that they have caused to the environment. He appreciates that through Regulation, the government is protecting its people from the dangers that may come from pollution, such as health hazards and global warming. He also notes that the instances of global warming are a result of the failure of the country to come up with useful legislation that will protect the people in society. Everyone has a role to play when it comes to taking care of the environment because all the people in society are beneficiaries of what the environment can do. In the case where an individual makes the environment dirty, it means that he or she should be ready for the harm that may come after it.
There is a general agreement that we must control pollution out of our water, air, and soil, but there is a considerable conflict on how the controls are supposed to be designed and how much of the power that has been applied is enough. Failure to exercise enough control will subject the environment to much harm, and using excessive control will amount to extreme power that may not yield the results that are desired by many people in society. The US has adopted several pollution control mechanisms that are tended towards detailed Regulation. However, one weakness is apparent, and that is that the polluters are left with little choice on how they are supposed to achieve their environmental goals. Despite the challenges that the government and the concerned parties face as they work on minimizing and finally eliminating the causes of pollution, many challenges will be encountered in the process. It is the role of the government to provide a clearly stated and explained regulation that will give the necessary directions that are supposed to be followed for the benefit of the society as a whole. The directions that are given in the regulations may be, at times, challenging to implement. Still, the government will always provide the necessary support to help the people to implement it accordingly.
Regulation is important because it shows the people in the society what they are supposed to do and the repercussions of not following the Regulation. Regulation has made the people in the respective countries to keep the environment safe. It is, therefore, important to note the importance of Regulation in the protection of the environment. Various governments have put in place environmental law that is aimed at regulating the individuals and companies to ensure that they protect the environment from pollution. The environmental laws specify the emissions that are allowed and the penalties that the perpetrators of pollution are supposed to pay to incase they violate the laws and regulations. The environmental laws not only focus on the regulations but also focus on the willingness of the companies to obey the regulations that have been put in place by the government. Some countries usually consult various aviation companies before coming up with laws on environmental protection. The multisectoral partnership gives important information that will help in coming up with the best measures that will help in environmental protection.
What was done was done to prevent reoccurrence?
One of the challenges that the people who take care of the environment face is the reoccurrence of an adverse environmental situation that had already been eliminated. For instance, they may have dealt with emissions in the aviation industry; then, it recurs in another sector. It, therefore, means that effective environmental protection should involve the multisectoral approach that will make sure that pollution is prevented in all the sectors.
Companies may put necessary measures to ensure that they deal with emission and ensure that the population plays their role in ecological protection. The government has put in place guidelines that will help in the management of emissions as far as environmental conservation is concerned. However, there are cases of reoccurrence that scuttle the process that has been established and followed. Some of the challenges that cause the problem are way beyond the control of the individual and the society as a whole. Some of the causes of air pollutions, such as natural events and disasters, cannot be prevented. For instance, it is impossible to avoid pollution that comes as a result of volcanic eruptions. Earthquakes may also cause pollution making it impossible to master the problem of pollution completely. It, therefore, means that people will only deal with the events that are within their power as opposed to the ones that cannot be worked on. Many cases of the plane crash also cause emissions in the environment. The government does the best to ensure the safety of the aviation industry, but there are times when the inevitable crashes occur that emit harmful pollutants into the air. The government and the other authorities, therefore, have to play catch up as far as dealing with the contaminants is concerned.
The respondent that took part in the research provided his input on what can be done to prevent the reoccurrence of environmental pollution. One of the ways that the respondent noted was making sure that the measures that have been put in place are sustainable and that they are for the long term. For instance, there has to be a standard emission control that helps in curbing the causes of pollution. Such a strategy may help in clearing the dangerous and ambiguous statements in the regulations that will be difficult to follow. The government, therefore, has to be keen on the wording of the Regulation as a way of making sure that it is useful in society and that it is effective. The respondent also noted that one of the major challenges that are faced in cases where the regulation hat has been written is not well understood by the people in the society. He also notes the need for the government to interpret the policy and the regulation documents to ensure that the people understand what it says. He also notes the fact that there are several ways in which the government can come up with the regulations than make sure that the said regulations are taken care of in the best way possible.
According to the respondent, nothing can be done to deal with the inevitable cause of pollution. Rather it is important for the governments and the other authorities to deal with the outcome of the activities that cause environmental degradation. He notes that the pilots, the engineers, and the companies as a whole need to ensure that the planes that are used in the aviation industry are safe for the passengers and the environment. He noted that the stakeholders in the aviation industry should prevent the occurrence of avoidable accidents and, in so doing, protect the people in the aviation industry.
It is the role of the government to prevent the occurrence and the reoccurrence of pollution. Some of the causes can be controlled, and others cannot. In the case where protection is possible, then it is supposed to be selected as a solution, and in the case where it is not possible, then it is good to accept the situation. It is important to note that human beings do not have the ability to control the natural events rather they are only left with the option of accepting that a given thing may occur, but it is important to understand where the particular mistake came from and what can be done to deal with such a situation. Consistency in the process of environmental protection and environmental care will play an important role in preventing the occurrence of pollution in society.

The combustion of aviation fuel releases waste products into the atmosphere that causes pollution that will affect the lives of the people in the society. The regulations can also be used in guiding the air traffic and the airspace as a whole that will help in keeping the environment clean and keep all the members of the society safe from the chemicals that pollute the environment. It should be noted that pollution can threaten the lives of the people in the society; hence should be dealt with all the stakeholders that include the leaders in the industry and the government as a whole. All the organizations and authorities in the aviation industry are becoming more environmentally conscious, something that makes them come up with various ways of protecting the environment from pollution.
