Introduction

Zhongshuge Minhang is s business organization situated in the Minhang district. It is found on the third floor of a business park in China. The organization has a writing curtain which helps people who visit the premises gain knowledge. The store has a spinning top, which creates a danger to the people who use the elevator to reach the third floor where the business premise is. The spinning top looks like a pivot. The position of the spinning top communicates a lot to the people who visit the premise. The spinning top is loosely attached to the pivot, making it look like a ballet dancer who tries to find the balancing point on the prop. The designer of the store aimed to indicate the way of life, giving people motivation as well as information recorded in the books. The design of the black bookshelves found on the wall shows an attractive shape that always attracts the attention of buyers whenever they visit the business place. Surprisingly, among the bookshelves on the wall, the triangular ones do not carry the books, but instead, they carry bundles from the halo ceiling. The halo faces downward on the triangular shelves and produces light like those of the street lights. This helps the reader to know the titles of the books in the stores.

The next place in the store is the booking hall. The doorway is colourfully painted with a dark brown color, which is attractive. The bookshelves are stretched on both sides to meet the minor ceiling. There are also arches, which are the simple structures in the doorway. The arches are similar to those of the British sacred churches. The wing rooms are equipped with reading booths, which the readers use whey they are at rest. The reading booths are conformable and conducible to be used by the readers. It creates a desirable place where people can meditate and forget their stress. There is a second book space in the other side of the wall where there are more books. The readers can, therefore, go and collect books from that side. The designer uses mirrors, and they are extended to create more reading space for the large number of books.

There is a dance hall which is situated on the other side of the book corridor. This space is similar to those of the previous bookshelves. However, the area is more extensive. There is also a bar counter which links the two arches. White sofa sets and black desks are carefully arranged on the floor. The bar counter offers an opportunity to read to buy coffee, which they can drink while reading. Thus, provides an excellent reading condition for the reader as they can also entertain themselves in the dance hall when they are exhausted.

Another critical feature in this store is the space. The furniture is arranged in such a way that the store can hold a large number of books and also leaves some room for movement.  The store continually keeps the right books to its readers and, in this way, promoting the spirit of reading among readers. The organization decided to use attractive materials that will attract more customers to their store. This is a form of product promotion, and it has a lot of advantages and disadvantages. One advantage of this method is that the business entity will have many customers, thereby increasing their income. Another advantage is to the customers since the needs, and the preference of the customers are considered. They are provided with commodities that entice them, making them visit the store regularly whenever they want to read. This can also be motivated by the presence of coffee in the bar counter, which the readers can drink as they read their books. The dance hall also provides entertainment activities which the readers can engage in when they are tired of reading. One disadvantage of this method is that there is an increased cost forcing the management of the store to increase their prices to compensate for the cost. This affects the customers negatively due to high prices on additional expenses. The last demerit is that the customers will decrease their preference to the store due to increased prices. This will, in turn, lead to the company running at a loss due to a small number of customers coming to the premises.

Effects of the Case Study

The prices of furniture have significantly increased in China due to high demand by the store. The materials used in the construction of that furniture are of high quality and attractive. They are also durable. The store has a lot of expensive furniture, which leaves very few for the remaining buyers. This forces the suppliers to increase the prices of the furniture to curb the increasing market demand, which exceeds their supply. The innovations and creativity of the store have instilled the spirit of reading on the readers. This is caused by the attractive furniture that has been bought in the store. According to readers, the store provides a conducive environment for reading and also relaxing of mind. The readers get motivated by the facilities in the store. They can also entertain themselves in the dance room in the store. A negative result of this is that other stores will not have customers since most of them prefer the store. This will consequently lead to their collapse and subsequent drop in the economy.

There is a high cost incurred during the purchase of the furniture. This is because the furniture in the stores is costly. If customers do not visit their stores, the company will suffer great losses. The maintenance cost is also high on the furniture. The company will use a lot of resources, including a workforce who will be responsible for maintaining the furniture. However, the company considers this as profitable. Many consider it as a waste of resources. The funds that would have been used in other project stores are used in buying expensive furniture, which may not be useful in the business. The organization will be forced to spend an extra-large amount of money in beautifying the premise to attract customers. Hence, they will be forced to hike the prices. This cost, therefore, passes on to the consumers through the raised prices.

The method of product promotion lowers the social values of the people. Attractive items placed on the entrances undermines some of the cultural beliefs of the communities. The store copies the arches that are from the sacred church of Britain, leading to the people losing hope in their religious beliefs. This, in turn, erodes their cultural beliefs. Their cultures can also be eroded through the dances that are done in the dance halls. The traditional method of conflict resolution is also undermined since people will, therefore, be sorting to the entertainment activities in the stores as a way of relieving their stress. In most occasions, the advertising may use languages or signs that are offensive, which undermines the cultural beliefs of the community. The store uses horrifying images and color paintings on the entrances, which may attract the attention of the readers; hence they might be involved in an accident.  This will consequently lead to the organization compensating the patients leading to extra cost to the company.

The Solution to the Problem

To ensure continued of the business, the company should review the various method which they can use to solve their problems. The solutions if applied correctly by the store, it will save its cost on production and also project its customers from humiliation by the promotion method. The solutions include the company should use simple methods of product promotion and customer enticement rather than buying expensive furniture. The best promotion methods may include giving out free tickets to the readers. This will increase the number of people coming to the store.

The business organization should also create projects where they can save money. The projects will help the company in generating the income which they can later use in the development of the business. They can invest in businesses such as online library services and mobile libraries, which can make it easier for the readers to access the library conveniently from where they are. The company will, therefore, avoid extra costs that they may have incurred in buying expensive furniture to attract customers. The customers will also be relieved from transportation costs to the company since they can assess the books online.
